I think this whole "black roof liners are only for high end, top of the range, high performance cars" is now completely debunked and can be put to bed. That doesn't mean they're not used a lot and it doesn't mean they're not used in low end cars also. The point is, roof liner colour has no relationship with how high or low end a car is.

Ford Fiesta

Interestingly, aside from the X7, all those roof liners match the seats.

I actually think he's still right, the above doesn't do much disproving.

All the super-luxury cars pictured have interior options for black.
The Kia Cerato shown is the GT, which is the top-of-the-range Cerato ... there are pictures on the Intarwebz of the base ones, and the headlining is a lighter colour.
Same with the Fiesta, that picture's the top-of-the-range ST, the lower spec ones I found on Teh Intarwebz are light coloured.

I think he's right, there has been a general trend for black to be install in upper-spec models, although I'd have said more normally when it's "sporty" they're aiming at rather than "luxury" (eg. Holden started pushing Calais as being a "sport luxury" model around VR or VS launch).

However, I also don't think any buyer ever noticed, apart from him. :)

The bigger sin is having a black interior and a white roof. It should match.

I must disagree ... the contrast is nice, and it makes it feel more roomy, with the light colour over your head & the darker colour below.
Black over white - erk - but I can see black over a mid-toned colour working, a grey or a sand ... or maybe a muted dark red, although that's pushing it.
White over white - no, just no. No!

my brain isn't fooled by "feels". It feels the same to me.

I’m about to paint my Vf Maloo A-Pilars

What is the closest match paint to suit the rest of the black lower half of the interior plastics? I’d like it to match as good as possible cheers

Closest off the shelf is black plastic bumper paint. It's good enough but lacks a bit of greyness for a perfect match.

The best way is to take a piece of lower black trim to a paint supplier and get them to match the colour and supply a spray can in acrylic paint.

My A pillar trims (below) is bumper paint, and the match is ok.
