im keen for this little "experiment"...here's the spec's for my car:
vs
v6
series ll
auto
equipe
sedan
CAI+ k&n pod + heat shield
2 1/2" lukey exhaust and extractors
tyre pressure is 42
18" rims
...other mods: yella terra 1:8:1 stealth street rockers, performance memcal (from dr bob)
starting and stopping, 30-40%
idle time, 10-15 mins
usually no excess luggage
usually just me
vortex from caltex + a octane boost and fuel treatment every second tank
average speed, 70km/hr
k's on the clock 191,000
how hard i take off, depends what mood im in (lol),usually pretty hard
fuel tank, 59L
air con, never use it

*week one*
last night i put exactly 35L in and my odometer said id done 320k's...so using koppers math i would have got 539.26k's from the tank and 9.14L/100k's

Stock Exhaust
Dont know about Tyre Pressure but i just had it servod so it should be good

2x VS
I've now just got the warning light for fuel...I actually started to see what I could do on a full tank before this thread was made.

I've done a mixture of driving...
I expect these figures could get worse...but I'm not into thrashing my car to find out.
This figure most definately could be improved with a lighter granny foot.
Air cond on around 80% of test

car : Calais VS series 2
engine : L67 - Stock
trans : 4L60-E - Stock
diff : 3.08:1
Mods : K&N panel air filter
Fuel : Shell Premium

Everything else is standard...including wheel sizes

520 Km / 60 L = 8.7 Km/L

I will be switching over to BP Ultimate when I can afford to fill up next...just to confirm the hype that $1.35 BP Vs $1.20 Shell is really worth it.

*Edit*

510 km / 60 L = 8.5 Km/L on BP Ultimate NO DIFFERENCE IN ECONOMY...think I'll go back to Shell Premium with the shopper dockets...save $9 / tank

I have a 'couple'
VR
V6

VR V6 S1
Auto
Exec
Sedan
CAI & K & N

Modified custom exhaust - genie extractors into modified y peice into 2.5" cat back no resonator

Engine Mods: fully rebuilt with ACL race O/S pistons, ported heads, deburred plenum, polished TB & elbow, custom cam & chip, blueprinted, portmatched everything

Tyre pressure 36F 34R - semi-motorsport tyres 235/45R17
Starting and Stopping: 90% city driving - but I find that crawling in traffic uses alot more fuel than stop/start traffic
Idle Time: Maybe around 10 mins a day?
Passengers: Me 80% and 2 passengers 20%
Luggage: spare tyre and tools
Fuel: 95 or 98 octane (pings otherwise)
Average Speed: 60 to 80 kmhs
Take off: use a little more throttle than I probably have to
63L tank
Air Con: always on in summer

Current fuel usage varies from around 14.8-16L per 100km depending on traffic conditions etc

will start taking more records

16/1/06 - on Woolies (Caltex) 98 - 15.5L per 100km - all city driving with air con on about 95% of time

VS II Auto sedan with 59litre tank. I always fill up and reset meter, and the warning comes on about 400km give or take 10. Then needs 49 or 50 litres, so 400 km/50litres = 12.5 lp100k or 8 kpl. Drive in Albury, large country town, mostly 10 km trips to work, maybe 2 or 3 stop lights and 2km of freeway per trip. probably average about 75kmh, no rush only takes 10 minutes anyway. Usually just me, maybe 40kg of golf clubs in back plus tyre. Has 122000km on clock, use reg unleaded, tried PULP with ethanol ??? got maybe another 20km out of it.

kwlumley, never mix PULP and ord unleaded together, they are not meant to mix properly, and that is from the fuel company executive that came on my boat to check for water in the fuel "sold with it".

If your interested Nulon make an octane booster, http://www.nulon.com.au/
