When you get a really good takeaway hot chocolate, with some cheeky marshmallows in it. Then when you get to the bottom and the rich chocolate comes out, you suck the melted marshmallow through the lid hole like an octopus going through a tiny hole. The sugary goodness just punches you in the face.

It was bloody cold here again this morning. It’s 36° outside but I needed a jumper and a beanie this morning

So many good snacks over in NZ.
Mustve been looked at strange as was literally "a kid in a candy store" while stocking up on Jelly Tip chocolate.
Milkshakes are so much better from a Dairy. Icecream is actually creamy.

Then let's not start on the quality of pies.
One from a Dairy blows almost everything over here away.
Then you get a really good one from a shop (we stopped in at Ngatea) and just the good quality of filling and nice pastry is just amazing.

Yup, when Mr24 left for Aussie last year they had a suitcase full of NZ snacks.

With the lack of quality pies I could never live in Aussie! Pies from the average dairy are crap compared to a good bakery so your pies must be truly ******* awful over there.

We used to get hot chocolates most Saturday mornings coming home from a training session at the pools (both boys swam competitively when at school) followed by a high protein brunch. Saturdays were long hard sessions in the pool.

I mean you get some quality bakeries over here, but so many Cafes and Bakeries definitely aren't of a great quality

It's just the pastry is done right
And the filling is done right.
The keep it simple scenario and sticking to quality with simplicity.
