Something I have for breakfast most mornings, so it wouldn’t bother me. Although it does seem typical of some discriminating management. Which reminds me, I must go and have my six monthly check up.

It's not so much what, it's what it represents. Due to the current covid restrictions in Auckland our onsite cafeteria is closed. We are not allowed to cook food in the plant. We are not allowed to gather socially. Later this afternoon the same group met for a drinking session at a discreet location at the back of the site where most people aren't allowed access too. Again breaking a number of rules put in place by our government to reduce the spread of covid.

It's a ******* kick in the guts for the staff who work hard every day.

Yep, one rule for them and another for the plebs!

Pharma ads.

I do not know about you guys, probably have the similar rules as the USA as far ads in the telly. The cigs ads were banned and pharma took over. Thank goodness for DVRs, I can fwd all that drug peddler's junk.

I believe direct marketing of pharmaceutical products is limited to a few countries only. US and NZ....

So no, for most this isn't usual.

But then you have to ask, is your doctor prescribing you medication X because it is the best option or because he's getting a deal from his pharma rep?

I believe I know the answer to that one.

I can’t recall pharma adds like that here. It certainly looks like it’s in your face there.
These drug companies are sadly for most, a necessary evil. You only have to look at the history and law suits which have been brought against some of these drug companies to see they are not as squeaky clean as they like to appear.
And I would say the conflict of interest regarding who they sponsor and are sponsored by is outstanding. (In your face)
They should go about their business more subtly, instead of lauding themselves as saviours of the human race. And I would have no doubt that thousands if not millions of people have inadvertently been harmed by some of the drugs they’ve produced.
I would suggest that the drug companies should just try some of that humble pie as they go about their very profitable business off the backs of the billions of plebs who have unfortunately become reliant, or in millions of cases addicted to their oh so colourful pills. My opinion.

Pharma ads in the USA are out of control, is disgusting. They are like a cancer and as mega sponsors of most telly shows, they get to dictate what and how to say, or the sponsorship cash goes bye-bye. The worse ad is one that is about 1.5 min long, feels like forever. Is about some "Gay" drug that supposedly prep/prevent the user from catching HIV. You can see clearly that 10 out of 12 individuals are gay. The other are Woody Pills, Viagra, Pfizer seems to have a monopoly on the wonder pill. Even their logo is shaped like it.

We have an interesting case in our extended family. Said lady was on deaths door and people were advised to visit and say their goodbys etc. She was on a whole host of medications at this point been treated for a range of issues (including mental), she stopped eating and refused to take her meds and we waited for that phone call but it never came. She started to eat again after a few days but still refused any medication. Today (many months later) she is out of the hospital and back into the aged care facility, she is lucid and back to her old self and off all those medications that almost killed her!
