Throwout bearing/clutch issue, or bad gearbox?

The only way forward is gearbox removal.
A bitter pill to swallow but it might save a bigger repair bill down the track.

I did expect to have to take the box back out, shouldn't be too much hassle.

Had a thought. Just go over those engine to trans. bolts. You never know lol

Update:

Took the clutch out yesterday, the flywheel, friction disc and pressure plate look to be in good condition.

On the other hand the spigot bearing just fell out of the crank hole when i took the box off, wasn't stuck on the end of the input shaft either, there's black rub marks around the outside of the spigot bearing & I could easily put it back in by hand and spin it in the crank hole.

So I'm assuming the noise was just the spigot bearing spinning in the crank?
