Quick simple one, what are the differences? Will a sedan one fit a wagon? I found and received a second hand one but it looks to be the sedan variant and the seller said it was a wagon version...
Obviously this gives me protection from fleabay but if it fits fine then I'll just install it :) part number is 92196009!

Thanks

I've looked on google... and ebay, as far as I can see the wagon ones look like they aren't as 'low' mounted as the sedan ones... otherwise I think they look the same!

This looks like what I have: Genuine Holden VE Commodore Sedan Towbar H D 2100 KG Rated 08 06 04 13 | eBay

The wagon one I think looks like this:
VE Commodore Wagon Towbar | eBay

Bolts look like they'd be in similar spots... But definitely a height difference!

[edit - second looks - looks like bolts would be in a different spot... So that would definitely rule out using it!]

I use my dads old VE senator towbar on my SSV wagon. No issues at all.

But feel free to let me know why I shouldn't be doing this if I shouldn't..

Is it a hitch style or a bolt on tongue? I assume the hitch (if it is one) fits through the bar OK? Or do you just mean the hitch piece, not the entire bar?

It's a hitch style.
Yeah I think I got a little confused, I meant the hitch piece fits fine.
Not too sure on the entire bar.

So I got the replacement yesterday, part number 92207452... But it doesn't fit!

Bolts up perfectly fine, but when trying to refit the rear bar it clearly doesn't come close! The hitch receiver seems to be about 2cm too high & the bumper on the inside hits the towbar...?? Have a look at the pics :)

(I've named photo's with descriptive names...)

Any ideas? I used the 'cut out' markings on the rear bar perfectly fine, but it is definitely not going on!

the plate from the cross tube to the hitch box on wagon bar has a different angle which hits the bumper bar , sedan hitch box is longer .
