holdencple, that may have been in some vehicles (like yours), however it's not in all.
According to the Holden wiring diagrams there shuldn't be a wiring harness there. However i do not have the diagrams for the Series 2 vehicles, so it is possible that VY Series 2 vehicles have the loom there for some reason :S
The correct way is still to do as the howto says by removing pin 27 from the ABS connector. You way might cause errors to be logged, however you may not see them. Some errors can only be seen with a Tech 2 device.
Have you tried to see if your ABS is working properly? It seems odd that there would be a connector there just for traction control. How many wires are there to it and what colours?
