try unplugging the traction control plug in the engine bay see how it goes after that.
not sure if it will help but worth a try.
If you want error codes then do this way. Your vehicle will complain and kick up a stink if you disconnect your ABS module.

your rite it will if you unplug the ABS MODULE,
just unplug the TRACTION control plug...which is no where near the ABS MODULE.
this just disables the traction control so its permantly off,and added bonus is you dont have to keep pushing the button to turn it off everytime you hop into the car.

You do know that as of the VT's the ABS module also controls the Traction control? The YE98 connector is ABS and ETC in one. Disconnecting the plug (or harness) will disable ABS and ETC. I have written up the proper way of disabling ETC in the How To section, just awaiting a mod to approve it. And would you look at that, it involves the YE98 connector. Unless you know of another traction control plug to unplug? That may cause other errors though, AFAIK there is only one way to disable ETC (properly without errors appearing) and that's in the how to.

v8commy, a VY has a lot more electronics and talk between electronic modules than a VR. As well as the nice error messages on screen and a startup test.

holdencple, that may have been in some vehicles (like yours), however it's not in all.

According to the Holden wiring diagrams there shuldn't be a wiring harness there. However i do not have the diagrams for the Series 2 vehicles, so it is possible that VY Series 2 vehicles have the loom there for some reason :S

The correct way is still to do as the howto says by removing pin 27 from the ABS connector. You way might cause errors to be logged, however you may not see them. Some errors can only be seen with a Tech 2 device.

Have you tried to see if your ABS is working properly? It seems odd that there would be a connector there just for traction control. How many wires are there to it and what colours?

Thanks checked it out :)
easier way but mite not be usable on all vehicles :- this has been used on a 2001 VX Clubsport and a 2004 series 2 VY SV8 without any error codes coming up not sure what other models this will suit.

here it is : located at the firewall passenger side is the traction control unit unplug the conector plug with the blue top, tie it off out of the way and your done,no traction control and easy to connect back up when needed :)

OK, i found out what they're for. I would suggest AGAINST doing it that way though.

That is only for Gen 3's. The connector pictured above is YE127. YE127 is the connector that connects the throttle relaxer to the Automatic Throttle Relaxer Module. This will not disable ETC properly, only knocks out the Automatic Throttle Relaxer motor. If it disables it it will be causing errors or the vehicle will be still retarding sparks but not having control over the throttle.

Like said before, the only proper way acknowledged by Holden (and performed by Holden) is the one here: https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/vy-how-disable-traction-control-etc.122209

If you want proof what those cables do, look here: http://114.77.38.163:6080/JustCommodores/pdfs/wiadiag/VXVUWH Series II/2d12p21dc.pdf
