whats the deal with the voltage while its turning over what am i looking for?

The easiest way to fault the battery is to check the voltage at the battery whilst the car is being cranked over, anything under 10 volts the battery is stuffed. To rule out your starter motor being worn connect another battery into the mix with jumper cables and if it still cranks slow then it's your starter motor / wiring not the battery

As Noddy said.

If you run it low on water you have probably killed the battery.

If you have a multimeter check the battery voltage - should be about 12.7 volts.

Do the above but at the same time turn your lights on and try to crank the engine and see what the voltage drops too.

More to the point, get the battery load tested....A multimeter may show up 12 volts or so, but when cranking the car, it loads the battery up more, so the volts can drop and cause the issues
