want to upgrade audio but keep holden audio unit.

so was thinking

replace 6 speakers ( mid ranges and 2 tweeters ) and leave the centre speaker in.

just add a line converter so i can amp my 7 speakers.

Whats a good brand line converter? was thinking of getting all the gear from jaycar. just want a bit better sound.not COMP style haha.

and down the track add a sub.

and does anyone know what the SV6 has stock for each speakers RMS? or where could i find this info?

Disconnect the centre speaker it will sound heaps better the door speakers are 15w or 30w mine where 30w i have mine running through a Audison bit 10 processor to my Amps so I don't use a line output converter but for what you want replace front and rear door speakers and tweeters get a line output converter for your amp will work

+1 remove center speaker.
and if you are going to go to the trouble of opening doors to replace speakers, while youre in there dynamat them.
a mate did just that (after he'd already done speakers earlier) and we all noticed a difference.
if you got a limited budget, concentrate on the best speakers you can afford and go a little cheaper on the amp and high level converter (jaycar etc).

It saves some stuffing about if you get an amp with high level inputs. This way you don't need a loc (one less link in the chain) and you don't run the risk of the loc letting you down quality wise either.

The stock speakers are utter crap, they are around 20rms from memory. Just about anything you get will be an improvement.

I put an 18mm MDF spacer behind my speakers.

I used Focal K2s and highly recomend them.

I also highly suggest you buy a bulk pack of dynamat and do the door skins.

Personally I would only dynamat if you were amping the system.
