My inhibitor switch on my V6 auto is starting to fail as i need to move the shifter around to get it to start.

I need about a week or so before i can change it over and need to do some long drives over the next few days.

My question is, if it fails completely is it OK to start the car by bridging the starter relay (pins 30 to 87 i think it is) with ignition on.

Will this cause any damage to the car and will it run normal ?

Well yes, that would work but make sure the car is in park if trying this or you might just run yourself over.
