Can anyone please help with the location of the neutral or inhibitor safety switch on a VE GTS Commodore.

I have replaced the battery and the starter motor and still have no crank however all my gauges and electronics work in the car.

An auto sparkie thinks it's the neutral safety switch but for the life of me I can't find its location.

i can only assume its part of the selector for the auto ? prob not a switch as such just it knows where the selector is and then disables start if not in neutral or park

Thanks 07GTS but the switch is not bolted to the side of the gear box so can only assume its inside the gear box

07GTS said selector.

I.e. Shift knob assembly, under the trim surround in the centre console.

Yea, had a look and couldn't see it but will have to have a better look then just in case its tucked right in. Been advised I will need to remove the trans inspection plate as its in there.

Inside the trans is this module that indicates what position the selector is in, would probably be it. Trans pan and filter off but easy to get to.

I have a 6l50 trans that converted into a v6 ecotec.

Yes l know that its not a 6L80 - 90.

Anyway the 6l50 uses relays for neutral safety switch & reverse switch. Thats one relay for each switch.

I think the v8 trannies are the same?

Thanks Lex, would you know the location of these relays?
