There was a kombi getting around in the mid 1980s with a mid mounted aluminium V8 Rover motor in it . Also a Beetle with a 289 V8 in it . I got some pics of it somewhere.

A friend of mine has one. Looks funny with the mickey mouse ears on the back to get extra air to the motor.

In this day and age, i wouldnt have thought it would be so hard.
Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket
upload the pictures there - figure it out, it isnt hard.

once uploaded there, under each picture there is a box that says IMG CODE.
COPY (DOUBLE left click your mouse in the box till it says COPIED) whatever is written in that box and PASTE it in your post here.
when youve finished, click submit reply and thats all you have to do.

i saw a Combi a few years back that had a 13B rotary on it. There used to be a guy in Sydney who made adaptors for just about anything!! i was going to put a 13B turbo into a Gemini at one stage :D

I know Jamie Oliver has a 911 Turbo motor in his Kombi.
The stig took it round the track once with Jamie trying to cook something in the back.

That should be awesome, but it's still only a 6 cylinder engine! I think i've got a kombi coming in which is still running its leaded motor, and i'll have to change it for another motor, just need to work out what one with the guy.

one question about that motor, has it been painted in silver paint? if it has it looks like all the pulleys have been sprayed, wont all the bearings get clogged up

Doesn't look like it's been painted, looks to me like a new motor, maybe a crate motor! When they get used then they start to discolour and change.

Sorry, my monitor for my server automatically darkens everything that is displayed over the normal input. Just switched to HDMI becasue it doesn't get darkened, and i can see it now!
I can see someone's going to have fun working on that engine! :p
