The Penrite run in oil. 15w40. I know thicker oil will help but I just forked out for this thing. Should even be a factor.

15w would be thick enough in my thoughts. I run 15w 40 in my V6 and it's got good pressure and I don't believe I have the stiffer spring the later V6s have.

Also those figures would be reletive to the car functioning properly and making good pressure. The reason it is at 1850rpm is to ensure the valve is open when testing. Essentially you're testing your release valve

Series 1 is 55psi to 60spi at 1850rpm.

The pump will flow more at 1850 so you will get a preasure rise. The engine oil pressure will rise as you go up in rpm ruel of thumb is 10psi with every 1000rpm.

I know they beefed up the spring from Buick to Ecotec. Maybe vy runs lower because it has better tolerances. Is the vy release spring the same?
