This one has been driving me nuts. Ecotec done about 300,000 km (odometer display died). When you start it first thing in the morning, misfires on 2 cylinders, and spews white smoke, smell of unburnt petrol. Seemed like bad DFI coil, replaced them and DFI module - no change. White smoke suggests head or intake manifold gasket. I have monitored coolant, and it is not losing any. Cannot see oil in coolant either. Now the strange part is you can let it run until temperate gets up to 1/4 then stop engine. Come back 2 hours later, start engine - no misfire, no smoke. So it is like heat soak cures the problem, whatever it is. Has error code 76 (trim left-right differs too much).

white smoke is generally coolant, i would start with lim gaskets as these are extremely common to fail
