Heya,

Just doing some fault finding on my v8, and I noticed that the Low Speed Fan relay is missing. Rang holden and they say no listing for a v8, just for v6 (same relay as Fuel pump). So im wondering if anyone elses v8s do or dont have a relay in the lo speed position?

The circuit does have power there when i checked with test light.

What year VS? Series 3 by chance?

All 304's except the very last had a thermoclutch fan bolted directly to the water pump pulley on the engine.

arhh yes, I should of said that 1999 series 3. I have a themo fan on the water pump for cooling - and a 2nd electric fan that engages when A/C is on or at a couple of set temps and low or high speeds. I also just noticed mine also has different amp rating fuses too what the labels says it should be on the next fuse panel down.

And I also just noticed I have no PARKERS globe wiring......I have owned this car for 200,000kms and 10 years lol........

As above v6 relay goes there...they all had clutch fans only vs series 3 v8 went to 2 core alloy radiator with slightly different fan shroud iirc

Also, the fuses in the next lower panel in mine are all different ratings....worth changing these back to correct ones?

Shouldn’t be - there’s no low speed fan to control. Yes put the correct fusible links in there.

Single thermofan with hi & lo speeds hence the 4 wires in plug harness.

Think v8 models had small helper fan in front of air condensor..atleast up to vr v8 iirc...vt was first to twin fans for v6 & v8
