Hi Ron

What a beautiful example of an early Monza. It's obvious you have taken a lot of care with its maintenance.

It's also a very attractive version of the VB Commodore body. The VB was very popular here when it was released, but I can't help wondering how many of these coupes might have sold if they had ever been released here,

Welcome to the forum.

Looks good, different and needs some getting used to coming from someone that has had a few of them from VB-VH. Thanks for sharing

that's a great looking car Ron. Probably one of the cleanest, most original I've seen.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but an Aussie race legend, the late Peter Brock imported a small bunch of the Monza's and dropped a 5L V8 into them. I think they all were black, and have become a collectors item these days. He tried to convince Holden into releasing them, but they were never interested.

welcome to forums too. Hope you find plenty of interesting reading here since our Commodores share the same blood line as your Opel!

Just look under Opel CIH there you will find plenty of pic,s,the 4 and 6 cyl engines are basicly the same, both use the same rods oilpump waterpump timing setup, and more things.

The 3 liter opel had 180hp on paper (on the dyno never more than 170) and 248nm torque around 4500/5000rpm.

There nothing special on those engines, not fast not strong and they have there problems like
low oilpressure and cam schaft that loose cams,if the chroom lair is trough and more things.
They are not as solid as the Holden 3.3 or 5liters,but perform a bit more.
