be careful when getting roof gutters blasted ( roof sills) as is a part you can not buy and have to get made... just a tip as I made mistake and cost me to get made and fitting is touch and go as welding can warp the roof.. fit same as other panels (clamp welded in punched out holes) as goes between roof and door frame (body assembly_) with roof skin being were spot/clamp welded together sill frame roof, just a heads up for you to know.

Tack welding with a spot at one end, then the opposite end, having a short break inbetween the tacking helps prevent warping panels....

I have even seen where someone has a wet rag on hand, so when they have done the quick tack, they touch that area with the rag to prevent warpage....

So a little food for thought there :)

Cheers legends for all the advise, unfortunately though I was never really good at listening.

Car came back and I gotta say i'm pretty impressed. Looks like I found basically all the rust it had, and luckily didn't receive any surprises

My panel guy has a bit of work to do, but not nearly as much as I was expecting. No panel warpage, a little bit of bog uncovered and some crappy welding from the factory. All of the underbody coating was removed to. One bare shell covered in 2k epoxy

It's actually super sweet looking at it so bare.

You can buy NEW cowl panels from rare spares for about $350 from memory, just punch and pin weld in and she all-metal again.
but must say she cleaned up well and perfect starting point.

Good one olm8 and can not wait for the finished product too!
and let us hope it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to get installed.
good luck and enjoy the restoration as not many of us can say we made our rides and not bought them.

It’s moving at a nice pace. I bet you finish this before I even get my Cross8 half arsed refreshed.

Cheers mate! A long way to go but I'm starting with a blank canvas, so now's the time to make decisions, which is something I'm not good at. Might slow up a little now with stuff going on, but hope to have it to the panel guy soon.

Nice work!

Haha, It's hard to find time man so I get what you're feeling. I think it took me 2 weeks of procrastinating to drop the rear end, even though it was a total of 7 bolts.
