Hey Sky, can you provide a bit more info? Genuine curiosity, no smart a** remarks here.
I thought that Zincalume and Galvanised iron should never go together as they set each other off - at least that's what a plumber would say.
Maybe I've had a boy look at the discussion? Also, maybe the galvanised 'coating' applied, is chemically very different to galvanised iron. No idea.

They're all zinc based passive coatings, designed to be a 'sacrificial anode'.

What I’ve heard plumbers say is that having a copper pipe touch a galvanised metal brace is a problem as the copper becomes the sacrificial material and you’ll end up with a pinhole at the contact site. basically galvanised bracing will corrode the copper pipe.

The following read may help briefly describe what’s needed for galvanic corrosion to occur

The pedal plate is a nasty rust trap.

Someone who's worked in the body production lines would know the construction ins and outs but from what I've read, only the bonnet and boot were aluminium.

Im gonna be this guy and say that ackchyually it’s only the VF that had an aluminium bonnet and boot lid. The VEs were old school steel.

Yes, it’s all about where on the galvanic spectrum the metals in question are as to which one gets sacrificed to corrosion.

The firewall was also aluminium and the pedal plate high density plastic.

Yep, got my metals mixed up.

"Copper pipes and lead flashing should not come in direct contact with either ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel. If building design is such that water will flow from lead flashing onto ZINCALUME® steel or COLORBOND® steel then it should be painted."

It was lead flashing (and not gal) I was thinking of.
