VE key remote programming

I have a purchased a VE Series 2 SV6, which only came with one key.
I have the 2nd key from my old series 1 VE SV6 here. Can I buy a blank like this
Holden VE Commodore Replacement KEY Blank Shell Omega Berlina Calais SS SV6 HSV | eBay
and then reprogram the remote section from the old car to the new car?

To program a new key u need the orginal, there is no setting in the options all u have to do is put the progamed key in first start car, turn off and the put the new key in and turn to on and then off, simple as that now the new key is programed and will start the car

I did what your saying and yes it did work, but as soon as I took away the original key. It said engine immobilized and to refer to the owners manual and owners manual suggests to contact your local holden dealer.
