Hi guys and gals!

My SV6 s2 is running rough. Holden can't find anything wrong with it, but an independant mech has plugged in his scanner and the following came up.....

"system running lean - bank 1"

So where do we start, I'm thinking o2 sensors? Is it possible to be injectors?

Any other guidances / experiences?

Thanks in advance

Running lean bank one would indicate 02's. It's a cheap easy fix and good place to start. Let surprised Holden didn't suggest this as a fix.

Thanks. Where would you suggest I get them from??? I hear Holden themselves will be pricey....

The dealer have been nothing short of pathetic. The car has been like this since I bought it Nov last year. Been back 3 times, even had the District Service Manager road test it and he said it's the "best one he's ever driven"

Check out Ebay but make sure you get a known brand, Bosch or AC Delco or the like.

You need to test the o2 sensor on a scope to see the cross counts and voltage readings, other wise its all guess work.
The Tech2 has this feature which Holden use. Fyi you need a Auto-elec not a Mechanic

Thanks. I'll have to go to auto elec as Holden refuse to look at it.

All they do is drive it and then tell me all is fine. .

Hi gang....

I did a little experiment this am.....

I pulled all o2 sensors out, both post cat ones were "black",... both pre cat ones were kind of "white ash" coloured. Is this normal?
I was hoping to perhaps see one side of the engine with discolouration and one without..

BTW.... is bank 1 the drivers side?
