I know a bloke that tried this on a 6l vz, got it to start without pressing the clutch, but would sit on the rev limiter if he clutched it with the cruise on. I carn't see the problem with it, i've always had manuals and have always press the clutch in before startup force of habit i suppose.
Cheers.
I always depress the clutch when I'm sitting in the car, but often during Summer in QLD I start the car to let the air-conditioning cool down before setting off. That's why it's helpful here.
doubledip, with the two switch's which would cause an intermittent starting issue, go to start car get a click, depress release depress clutch generally starts, no weak cranking or anything, just sometimes not starting, could it be starter solenoid
Just had a read of this thread and no real answer, so i thought i would bump it as I would like to know how to start my commodore with out getting in it. Cheers guys
Tasmaniak can do it. He installs alarms and remote start systems. I've asked him about one for my manual VEIIS SV and as part of the remote start, he disables the clutch safety "feature".
