My old man painted his the body colour then cut out the middle sections on his and put some steel mesh in place of that, looked pretty good actually.

Yeh i ended up cutting the middle out of mine. You say you made more mounting brackets, weren’t the original ones sufficient?

Is specific heat proof paint required when painting these ?

I used normal basecoat and clearcoat on my VT and it was fine when I sold it a few years later

Damn! Wish these guys come up in my google search originally, would of bought a pair of covers bare and painted them myself. At least they would of fitted correctly and not have the gap like the cut up factory will.

i did you can just see on rhs cover the SS crew, i did it to make them really solid fit, i felt they were a bit loose without it, 10 mins to make both brackets and fit, took longer to find the right bolts and nuts
