Ok so car has been at the mechanics for a couple of days, and they have found what I pretty much already knew, so all coils on passengers side are not firing. There is power going to the coils but they just not sparking. Drivers bank no issue. Mechanic seems to think ecu or short in the loom, problem is if the ecu is the issue I’m looking at a 2 week wait.
So is there anyone else with any ideas? I’m at a loss cause they have just told me what I already knew. I was hoping for them to find something I’d missed. Please Any help is much appreciated.

They have the car and are doing their job, it’s just when I spoke to the mechanic he was at a loss and said he’d never seen a car loose all four coils at once. He mentioned searching the internet to see if anyone else had same issue. So he will probably stumble across this post. I was hoping someone on here might be able to help us out, maybe someone has an idea that we haven’t thought of?
Anyhow any help is appreciated

each bank of coils is supplied positive from a separate fuse (pink wire)
which your mechanic seems to have proven ok
i would be running a new separate fused wire to prove this is ok
they also share a common positive brown wire from ECU
then there is a common ground (black wire)
then each individual firing wire
so he needs to start looking at the wires that are common to all 4 coils
before testing at ecu

What are the plugs they attached to like? What if the spark is poor due to internals in the plugs not being great. In go new coils and they fail down the track. Then new ECM because that’s the fashion and $2k for that and guess what, same thing happens again.

Double check the simple things first.

Cheers bloke, trying to find a wiring diagram was a bit hard but got there In the end. I went down there today dreading that the car would be at mechanic’s forever after some continuity test a wire was found to be broken. Firing on all 8 now . Thanks to each an everyone who helped I hope this can help someone else in the future. Cheers

Imagine paying for a ECU and it did not fix the issue !
(passing the bill on to customer)

Testing, Testing and more Testing is the aim of the game,
and it proved it pays off.

Great to hear the fault being resolved.
