VE sv6 2012 ute

Hey guys had my 2011 sv6 ve thunder Ute play up misfiring and the whole lot the place where it is at thinks it’s a ECU issue…..idk but they said for it to be sent off and repaired and all will cost around 3,000????? Is that bs or how much it generally costs

They will be able to provide you with the evidence for the diagnosis.

It won’t be a guess. They will be able to provide you with the processes and checks they did to prove the fault.

Ask them that.

I’d bet they found a $30 fix that can be disguised as a huge job.

Mark the ECU if you can. Measure the mark. Use a scratch or something subtle. Get a photo of it.

Probably best to take it to Holden and ask them to diagnose it using the proper test equipment. Last I knew V6 new ECM was not much more than $1000 plus fitting and linking.

What makes them think it’s a ECU
issue ?,

What was the diagnosis?
Did they provide a report?
Or just say,
“It’s the ECU”
As they count the $’s they can rip from you.

I have one for sale that came out of a LFX 2012 SV6 Sedan.
