VE SV6 Transmission

Blew up trans in ex police car. '07 VE. Trans was 7HA.

Found a 5HA cheap to replace, will it fit?

No it won't , send me the number for the 5ha look man apparently they can by changing the rear extension housing but ve and vz 5 speed is supposed to be the same just minor external changes.

There's meant to be dude I've been looking for a reasonably priced 5 speed in Perth. Like two wreckers have them and aren't cheap lol. But one of them said I could use a ve box if I still had mine because you can swap what's different on it.

But Google doesn't show much and I've not had the two side by side.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it will be cheaper to convert my SV6 to a manual transmission once the 5 speed auto craps itself. The price they want for 5 speed autos is ridiculous.

It is but I've not driven a tuned manual and with the torque management I hate the manual vz's with a passion. Old workshop ute was one.

Plus it's in a statesman I don't wanna three pedal a limo CBF.

Will this work but or no cause I'm having a hard time trying to get a secondhand box for it and it's been having trouble for the last three years so if this will fit I'll take it and put it In ya know

They are the shittest gearboxes ever fitted to a Commodore.

Do what you can to free yourself of them.

They are also one of the most expensive to fix and require the best gearbox technician in your nearest city. Not for just any old gearbox recon place.

They were also shite when used in BMW’s.
