The VF ssv s2 has no distortion in the sound system at all. I guess the best way to describe it is that you have more defined left and right channels.
My old VE SSv
When the center speaker was connected, I thought the system sounded normal (like any car would)
But after disconnecting the center speaker, it sounded so much better, true Stereo.
It's an easy job on a VE, and yes you just disconnect the wire plug and leave the speaker in place.
I am not an expert on this but if it improves the standard sound system it's worth a try

What about the Hands free telephone? Doesn't it use the centre speaker?

Good question Anthony121. Yes it does use the center dash speaker as well as the two front door speakers for the Hands free telephone.

I've now unplugged the center dash (3.35ohm) speaker and woo just like the VE it made a big improvement.
The Hands free telephone now using the front door speakers.

I like having left and right channels - it's not a home theatre.
Very Very Easy to do.
Taking the center dash speaker cover off a VF
Use your fingers at the window side apply upward pressure on the outer side as you work your way back towards the front of the grill. It will pop out.
Remove the center dash speaker wire plug
There is a half-moon shape (picture below) on the wire plug push the inner plastic peace to remove.

I removed the centre grill on my Redline Ute and no speaker to be found. Any how still building up the courage to change out the speakers for the Morel Maximus 602 6.5.

Interesting BOOF308 so the VF Redline Ute don’t have a center dash speaker or it's been removed already? Anyway, also planning to replace the original front door speakers with Morel Maximus 602 6.5.
After SuckSqueezeBangBlow comment ''Morel Maximus 602 6.5 well worth the $300''. works for me.

Ended up buying the Morel Maximus 602 6.5 and the tweeters do not quite fit. You guys that have changed your tweeters did you have to cut any of your trim to fit the tweeter in?
