In the middle of the intrument cluster between the tacho and speedo or the infotainment system? I assume you have checked your dimmer setting and that your sun sensor on top of the dash is not dirty? If it thinks its dark outsode, it will dim the display down a lot.

Sorry mate, infotainment system.
Couldn't find a dimmer setting?
Sensor is clean

On your dash, right hand side of the steering column, there's switches and dials there (changes depending on the car you have - like Head up display etc), I think its a vertical roller switch there that adjusts your dash board display brightness. Try pushing that up and see if the brightness of the display increases.

Yep. understand, I thought that only did the display in the dash and not the infotainment (nav) screen. I'll have a look

Thanks mate. That fixed it.
Why it went dim and stayed dim in the first place I don;t know
