What's the quality of factory pads for the all round Bembro brakes like?
What sort of Km should you get out of a set?
Is there a better quality longer life aftermarket replacement?

Brembo pads are average, QFM HPX for general driving or QFM AR1M for spirited driving.

HPX will be quieter and less dusty but lower max temp but AR1M will work better for hard driving. Also wears rotors and dust is higher.

Also heard good things about forza fp3, I will try them next.

Brakes direct can supply both and also give good advice based on needs and driving you do.

I've given my car a bit of a hard time in the hills, haven't noticed any fade. Dust is a god damn nightmare!
As far as pad life goes, depends heavily on your driving style, but expect 45-60,000kms regardless of front or rear.
As far as aftermarket pads go, plenty of options, hit up Brakes Direct for options and pricing.
I ran Akebono ceramic pads in my old car that had Brembos, awesome pad. Very little dust, didn't eat the rotors and had a great pedal hot or cold.
I'll be looking to change the pads and possibly rotors on my car when I decide on how long I'm keeping it.

Your comment came through before I saw it.

Second the HPX pads as a good options. I found the A1RMs very aggressive on the rotors.

Hearing good things about the forza FP3 pads.

Yep, very annoying on both our redlines.
Holden released a tech line with a fix, applying a grease to the ends of the pad.

My VF2 SSVR is pretty new but I've had no noise (or other issues) with the brembos at all. They do generate a fair bit of dust but I don't mind, I stand on the pedal a bit.
