Hi,

The SSV comes in 2.9 diff gears (from memory) auto wagon.

Anyone changed theirs? 3.45 etc.
Cost?
2.9s is quite tall with a 6 speed. Anyone know 6th gear ratio.

Cheers

I think VF 2 has a shorter gears than b4? 3.23 or something?

The gearing on the series 1 is ridiculous and clearly geared (parden the pun) towards fuel economy.

The change from 3.27 to 3.45 would be worthwhile but it's a lot if expense for only a small change. Perhaps look at the 3.7 ratio.

Low diff gears in our cars are orsome. The only reason I wouldn't change (or use the 3.45) is if you do lots of country trips, or if you are planning forced induction.

Puzzled about one thing. Humour my ignorance. My VF1 auto has 2.92 diff. Spends most of its life in the city. I realize that a 3.45 or whatever improves take off but the auto doesn't drop back to 1st when I stop. So if I want a faster takeoff I could change into 1st which is effectively the same as a diff ratio change unless I have this messed up. It would be interesting to see the quarter mile differences between the diff ratios and the number of gear changes needed to get to the traps as well as what gear do you want to be in going through the traps.

Have many gone up/down from stock in their vf2?

3.7 manual ratio seems pretty good for higher power levels, maybe higher ratio for basic mods would be good but I find 1st and 2nd a little short already. anyone gone less than 3.7?

I've changed my factory auto 3:27 to 3:70 out of a manual in my VF2 Redline (320RWKW), with a small 2830 stall it drives nicely around town and noticeable pick up down low when pushed. It still sits under 2,000RPM @ 100k's/h (1950), but first is very short, luckily when driving normally it takes off in second.
