Bottom end all machined, balanced and assembled.
im pretty stoked the way it has come together and the builder was very good with service and communication...definately not one of those typical builders thats only after your hard earned coin
...the next 2 months couldnt come quick enough

will be good to see what sort of numbers the engine makes with all those goodies
id like to put it on an engine dyno but my funds are wearing thing and ive decided to build a diff.....i dropped my heads into HPE and chatted to pete for a while....he knows for a fact it wont hit 500fwhp because of the stick, but it should land somewhere between 450-490

well as for the updates it seems like nothing is happening really

The bottom end is completely assembled and painted.
i went with holden rocket red at first but....holy sh!t it was bright and bit of an isaw....so i gave it a satin black finish!

i did the good old oil pump internal modifications that some of you will know about

picked up a brand new pro billet dizzy and SS blaster coil for $300....my bargin of the year!
Fitted and set it to where #1 TDC on the comp stroke

Got a nice new 750 Might Demon Carb (mech 2ndrs)

The heads were dropped in last week for tickle....Care of Pete at Horsepower Engineering
6000 ferrea valve 2.02 in 1.6 ex
crane dual springs retainers and locks machined to suit dual springs ready to bolt on
270cfm (555hp)
machined for screw in studs 7/16 studs
typicly this package with a crane F280 will make around 340-350rwhp on a 355 auto according to HPE
my cams a touch bigger in lift and duration so it should be a good thing!
Port match manifold
This is going to take 5wks to do as he's flat out with the season about to start....so he's got a truck load of work to do before mine

Pulled the trans out to go over all the seals and gaskets and replace all of em.

Had a custom 8" race converter built with billet internalls and awesome stall speed of 4500rpm....cant fkn wait haha (sorry no pics on that its plain white)

Picked up some 1/2" moroso alloy fuel line....the car is jacked up and im about to drag my lazy ass out to the garage and rip out the old and bend up the new....after i post this

New holley blue pump and reg is in the mail....

The pics arent anything special.... i just sat the motor in to admire how it would look in place

450-490hp is imprssive, especially in these early girls
yeah I've also spoken with Pete, I'm hoping to hand him over my heads for a bit of work as well.

yeah go for it!
his work looks nice in person and showed me a few examples of what mine will turn out like! on av8 i had a thread on
"alloy versus cast iron" and he put up a basic list of head stages which is what made my mind up on what i wanted

im going to guess it will be closer to 450 more than anything.
Anything thing bigger than the cam im running your going to need to extract more rpm to achieve the benefits and the HP figure....then your going to bee spinning it well over 7000....... and thats nudging 4bolt territory

ahh oil ....well u pretty much pull it apart and port out all the rough casting dags.

You pretty much follow its flow in and out and radius all the hard/sharp 90 degree angles, increase few flow areas....when u actually put the base of the pump to the block youl find the hole in the block is slightly larger than the hole on the pump....port the pump to reduce restriction...

it gives you a faster flowing pump with a little more volume....it will out perform any hi vol pump.

Bonnet clearance will be touch n go..the carbs already past the level line on the 2 guards....then youve got the factory raise in the bonnet plus i have the grp3 cowl on it with a hole already there fron the 308, i might have to run a 1" filter just to keep it under the cowl
