vk / ve
Hi all,

I'm wondering if you guys can help me figure out why my old vk is over heating and blowing smoke from both around the engine and out the exhaust.

Its been sitting for a few months broken down, over the last week I decided to try get her started as my VE SS is off the road.

After replacing the dizzy with a VH one to bypass est crap and installing a new starter motor and new exhaust it is now running but not for long!.

I only got as far as 10 mins down the road and she was boiling hot, I had to pull over and leave her on the side of the road as their was lots of smoke coming from the engine and pretty thick smoke from the exhaust.

Anyone have any ideas what would be causing this?

thanks

start with cooling system, theres bound to be a problem there, maybe a corroded thermostat or faulty water pump? my water pump and thermostat were both cactus as the previous owners obviously only used water , not proper coolant.
