vk help

Hi to all my son has a vk black 3.3 it had a stipped timing gear we have replaced timing gear did all you are suppose to do top dead center number 1 timming marks on gears line up got rid of that dist and put a vh elctronic dist on it we have power to coll and spark at the plugs we have fuel but will not fire what have i missed
he has just bought the car as it was so dont know if it was a runner befor or not
any help to this old bloke would be great

Hi,
Is the VK a carb or EFI?
When you crank it do the plugs get wet with fuel?

Odds are you have the dizzy 180 degrees out I have done it plenty of times before.

just a thought... now i may be stupid but did the original owner fit a kill switch? I had this problem with another car and found that they had fitted one in the cigarette lighter and it needed to be pushed in in order for the car to start... ?
