VN manual gearbox fit into VS SS

Im enquiring on behalf for a friend if anyone can tell me if a VN manual gearbox will fit into a VS SS?

Assuming the manual gearbox is from a V8 VN then yes.

Yes its a V8.
Is it that simple? A strait swap basically?

Mechanically yes (assuming you have all the associated manual trans bits).

Electronically no. The VS uses the 4l60e transmission which is controlled by the PCM. The biggest hassle is the fact that the manual trans uses a different vehicle speed sensor and the standard Auto PCM can't read that signal so it either needs to be modified or the appropriate manual PCM used. There are a couple of options, 1. find manual PCM and wiring loom (rare like hens teeth) modify the Auto PCM and rewire your original loom to suit + modify the tune.
