Vn t700 which car/year in the states

Hi can anyone tell me which year/ car the th700r4 transmission from the vn was found in in the states

1982 1992

they changed the name to 4L60 in 1990 (from TH700-R4) but its the same transmission, few internal changes but nothing major. then after 92' they went electronic (4L60E)

Knowing how far behind Australia is to the states, probably the 50's haha.

Cheers for that. I'm trying to find a reverse pattern manual for the 700 I'm getting built but can only find TCI ones which I can only find Write ups on of ppl having issues. I have already tried the non engine braking type, mechanic could not get it working properly and I sent it back to summit. I've been hunting thru US forums seems like alot of 4wd guys use the 700 but still can't find any info that's helpful

what do you mean "reverse pattern manual"? you talking aboutt he detent plate? i am just about to fabricate one for the impala to go on the end of my coulmn. i bought a console detent by accident, so i am going to use the measurements off it to make a new column mount one.

after that im done with it. was $50 plus postage if you want it. itll still be unused. all the fittings and stuff come with it.
