Vn v6. Crank angle.

Hi all can anyone tell me is it possible to use a 2 wire crank angle sensor (say from a ford) on a v6 to control the dfi unit. ????
Instead of the 4wire Holden sensor

Does the Ford CAS sit behind the balancer like the VN does? Also does the Ford one have the notches in the pic up to stop it hitting on the inside of the balancer, like the VN one does? Lastly is the Ford one adjustable like the VN Series 1 is, to make sure it has the correct air gap?

Are there both sit behind the balancer but more wondering if the dfi will work with only 2 wires
