vn with no spark, changing coil packs

If there is no power to the coil I'd be testing your crank angle sensor.
Can't recall exactly how it is done and can't find my manual at the moment.
Basically if there is no power to it then the coil isn't the problem (well, first problem anyway).

yeah i woudl check the crank angle sensor, as i had that problem with mind, it just would start and sometimes it did, series 1 to 2 is easy, im getting a new one this week

in mine it would crank fine but obviously no spark however i could smell fuel so i knew that the crank sensor was alright, i bought a new one any way ($40 from repco without the bracket $70 with it) i haven't changed it as changin the pack did the job, it's a hell of a job trying to get your harmonic balencer off

if you want to check your leads take them off one at a time, put a screw driver in the lead and put it near the engine, then give it a crank, it should spark pretty good. but if you coils shot its not gonna

so if i have power to wiring harness does this mean my crank angle sensor is ok

i just changed the coil pak over to a series 2 . i took the old one and showed the mechanic he rekons yeah it was suffed however i changed everything over and still no spark so now i am thingking the crank angle sensor. can i check this is working using a multimeter or testlight or any other tests i dont want to have to pull the pulley of just yet

cheers all all fixed after all that it was the sensor ( f**en little ****)
