Mate that's such a nice Maloo! Shame to read about all the dramas you've had with it but glad to hear everything's sweet now .

So many dramas with it, but you'd think now it'd be a near unbreakable set up, or at least hope so.

Where to start...
I think a few people follow me on social media to know what i'm up to these days but i haven't been very motivated to update this.

When i first got the Maloo the brakes were mostly fine, I guess sitting in the weather the clear coat started to peel and my stupid mistake on fitting the wrong wheels shaved the calipers a little. I was tossing up for weeks if they should stay Red, Blue,Yellow, Gold? Here is what i ended up going with. Honestly sets them far better then stock red.

And this wouldn't be right if i didn't top it off with some new rims.

If anyone noticed a vent change i picked up some Black edition vents for the bonnet and guards.

Now this is where it goes down hill... Been having ABS and traction control issues ever since having the car back from a new diff. Had the computer scans and swapped sensors and adjusted parts constantly till i thought it had been fixed... Having a muck around one night and noticed my brakes "just" not feeling right, Next thing i know i get a brake warning on the dash and ABS warnings again. Tried to launch the car off the line and traction and ABS kicked in and turned its self back on even tho i had turned them off just before lunching. (I'm guessing a wheel sensor faulting connecting and disconnecting kept making the computer turn ABS and traction back on ) BANG! put it straight into neutral, i know its was something to do with the drive line so i tried to push the car off the side of the road but would move even tho it was in neutral and handbrake off.. Turned the car completely off and back on and the brakes released. Long story short right? Brakes had locked on 100% when i have dropped the clutch.. Everything has been built except the tail shaft and drive shaft what was the weakest point..
Here's the damage... New tailshaft, Drive shaft, New rubber bushes. More money down the drain we go..

Because i don't half ass things of course a load of CV's grease went everywhere. If anyone knows what this is like... Its a nightmare to cleanup.

During all my issues i no longer found my new wheels appealing what so ever due to the number of other people with the exact same rim.
Ended up selling them and buying some 20 x 10 front and rear Versus rims. Good guard poke and still concave with the big brakes.
Personally thing they look ten times better. Recently sold my Colorado and picked up a VF ute temporally till figured out what i wanted to do next.

This leaves me at a cross road to where i should be heading next. I have spent Thousands and Thousands on quality parts to just sell it? or keep it and HOPE this issue doesn't re-accure or the next weak point to show...
Unfortunately the dissension is to sell her. I'm just at breaking point of disappointment over and over of what was meant to be my "Dream car"
Turbo kit has been sold. SV wheels are pending pickup and all spares are in process of being sold.
Hopefully who ever buys her will enjoy her for years to come. This feelings sucks to say the least.

Keep it! Process of elimination really, what else is there that could go wrong that you haven't already touched?

And awesome threads btw, you've a talent and whatever you chose to do hopefully we'll see more of them!

You could keep it, like jay said, what else could go wrong!Or sell it and buy the new supercharged vf2 maloo, either way you'll be happy cause you know they should be fine and not beak.
It's totally your choice though, either way like jay said, as long as we hear about all your projects we'll be happy!
Love your work mate!! Keep on keeping on!

Given what you have spent on it so far you should be due a long and happy co-existance with it. Who's to say that the last repair you made would be the last repair dollar needed on it for the next 5 years. If it were me and with the effort and money you have put in i'd keep it.
Just my two cents. Fantastic looking ute by the way.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. This is truly cursed. Took it for a spin for the first time since having a new tailshaft and now lost second gear. Will know tomorrow if the box is stuffed
