Hi all I’ve been having trouble starting my vr, have scanned and coming up with the code 46 …

We originally got a new key for the car as the original was broken. New key wasn’t programmed to the car but it worked fine for two months, still drive had no problems ect.

Car stopped working out to the blue so assumed it was the key, got a new key that is programmed to the car but still not starting, have changed the starter motor, dfi , plugs, leads, coils, fuel pump, and crank angle sensor was replaced just under a year ago but codes coming up as 46… any ideas what could be going on?

Sounds like you have an ignition problem. The attached document is for a VS but some parts may be relevant for the VR.

The metal ring on the ignition barrel gets pushed in or damaged, the little metal knob on the key wont make contact..to check hold down the door unlook button as you turn the key to start..thats assuming its not cranking.....
