Does your dash have diagnostic capability?
Welcome to Just Commodores, a site specifically designed for all people who share the same passion as yourself.
This would be letting air into the system. Which would be the problem.heater core which needs flushing anyway and also has a slight leak.
Unfortunately not... only my normal gauges... VR's don't even have OBD at last check.Does your dash have diagnostic capability?
Possible but the thermostat I took out was letting the engine run at 1/4 on the gauge or less. I used Rislone radiator seal not long ago and the leak stopped - it was the one with brown liquid I think and not a lot of aluminium flecks. Someone on this site I'm sure said some time ago that they hadn't really had any problems with air bubbles in VR cooling systems. Have got a feeling that the new thermo is working correctly as I remember the manager of a some new flats I was living in not long ago said they had to limit the flats hydronic heating system to 80C for safety reasons by comparison. If I can buy an infrared temp sensor will try that. This would be letting air into the system. Which would be the problem.
