was it between a/r on compression or exhaust stroke though.put ya finger in no 1 plug hole and wind it with a socket untill you feel pressure blow your finger off then turn till it is 10 degrees before tdc mark make sure rotor pointing to no1 lead on dizzy cap

Haven't checked dizzy timing that way yet ill give that a try the way i set the cam timing was set crank tdc then moved the cam so the valves where the rock and put the chain on and it was a 9 link gap on the oil pump side then set dizzy and Tryed to start but only fires haven't checked since by checking compression stroke then see where the rotor is facing

when the chain is lined up on the links and dots its at TDC firing number 4

your dizzy is 180 out

Just rememberd when I put the dizzy in I had the crank at tdc not 10 before and set it at number one i move the dizzy whilst turning over should that corect it or its out by 10

Oh **** I get it now that's cleared it all up its 180 out dizzy wasn't timed on compression stroke my mistake feel stupid haha thanks heaps delcowizzid

I rember it didn't click on till he said the 9link gap is tdc for number 4 is when it clicked you where right too was just thinking if normal timing set it up tdc then set dizzy this way is different but thanks also lowandslow all help was much appreciated just didn't realise

Haha will do shouldn't have any spark faults for a while once again thanks heap for your help and thanks to everyone else who gave pointers too much appreciated
