Howdy, any tips on what to do to stop the auto filter falling out of the bore and floating in the pan?

Happpens under full throttle when generally when car is loaded.....does have a chip, which may be throwing more pressure through?

Done it 2x In the last few months. I'm getting tired of dropping it each time. Messy job :)

Has 280,000kms and most likely never serviced before I bought it as the fluid was like water and black when I first got it 6months ago.

Dumb question, is the old filter rubber still in the bore?

Nope.....replaced it when did filter change ..... Didn't change it the 2nd time though....might have to do it this 3rs time.

Maybe I just not putting it back in perfect.

All fixed - And mostly to the posts on this forum!!!!

Whoever last serviced the auto used the shallow pan filter - I replaced with a shallow pan. It now has the deep pan filter on which seeds in much nicer! Half the Auto shops didn't even know there was shallow or deep pan option!
Lesson learnt - do all my research on here first.

And changed the inner port/bore seal with ease from the advice from this forum!
