V6 auto has just started started some intermittent jarring under acceleration, similar to 2 or 3 thumps has 280K, well serviced, but might be due for a rebuild. any ideas?

Mine does this also, very rarely, but i am not able to figure out if it's the auto, or the engine cutting out intermittently. (missing)

yeah did consider a faulty injector

Maybe it's the tailshaft centre bearing shot and flopping about under heavy accel....or the muffler hitting the body. Have a good look underneath for any rub or witness marks as it could save you a lot of $$$$$. Taxi owners with the 4L60E have got over 500ks so they can last a long time if you look after them.

Mine had a similar problem at 80000km. Change leads and or fuel filter.
