If its only glued to the frame some strong magnets coukd pin it while the adhesive dries.

I guess one must decide, are we hunting originality or just some sort of average quick fix.

One other thing to consider, is the car actually worth it and a long term proposition or one that's for the moment and going to be moved on ?

No just want it to look better...i have dash mat anyway just sick of edges...you can see it even with dash mat on

hi im gettimg mine done at a trimmers this week for 200$ they reckon they done heaps so ill let u know how it comes out using original pad with heat and some sort of glue

Don't think he will reply after five years. He would probably have been too embarrassed to admit he paid $200 for something that is simple and straightforward for a motor trimmer to do (unless they threw in a new roof liner at the same time - LOL).
