Is it possible to get a drive belt that's made for a vs with no air conditioner, and place it on a vs with an air conditioner (by passing the air conditioner). Or does the air conditioner pulley need to be connected regardless?

Are belts without the air con available?

Will the belt reach considering the slight detour?

Thanks.

You can get a belt with no A/C and it doesn't need the pulley, so you can remove the entire A/C system if you want. Not sure if you can just go through it though, may be loose or tight but tensioner should fix it, so i would think so, test it if you like aha

So to remove the idler puller I just use a standard spanner and turn anti clockwise. Remove it whole and leave the bolt hole. Not hard to do?

It won't need a super long spanner for extra levering strength?

6 or8?
All the conversions these days (using these engines in early holdens) are without aircon or power steering or both ( with a pulley )

You just need to buy the non A/C serpentine belt for a VS. Ive got one here in my spares, I bought it once when my A/C compressor bearings stuffed up and I bypassed the compressor until I could get a new one. You also need to remove the lower idler pulley and mount, which is not hard to do. The pulley has one main bolt, the pulley mounting has 3 nuts that hold it in place.

Yes belts are available. For that pulley to come off, the whole assembly, theres 3 bolts. 13mm I think. Just use a socket, extension and ratchet.
I put the bolts back in but you dont need to.

As above haha.
Alsp just curious guys, any power gain with two less pulleys and a shorter belt?
I also heard the aircon system is about 30kg, any use taking it out?
Not looking at a track car but just some easy cheap mods heh

No, I didnt notice any difference in power. I guess the compressor, lines, condensor etc would all add up to weighing a fair bit.
