Hey everyone,

I wanted to check if anyone knows how/where the Dash mounted tweeter wires usually join (or is there a holden crossover?) to the front speakers. My diagram shows it just taps in.

Front Left (+) - Tan
Front Left (-) - Grey
Front Right (+) - Light/Green
Front Right (-) - Dark/Green

Out of no where both Front door speakers just stopped. The Tweeters are working fine.
I can get a test tone out of the tweeters but not the door speakers. I do have continuity at the door speaker wires.

Tested the speakers and head unit off the car and all is working. Alpine head unit

The front system was in before I purchased the vehicle, I haven't seen any aftermarket crossovers in there yet. It is stock tweeter with some "option audio" brand woofers in the door- where would the crossover's normally go in a VS?

Pretty common for front speaker wiring to break inside the door hinge rubber.

I fixed mine a few days ago bad connection to the speaker so soldered it on. Funny how both failed at once, I would say a dodgy insulation.
These tweeters from factory are shitt anyway its nothing like real crossovers.
I fitted a pair of kickers 6.5 with cross overs in a Holden cruze the other day what a deafferents they make.

Deafferents? Deaf people have no need for speakers.
Look up the word before commenting, has nothing to do with deaf people.

I save you time as your very time poor.

Adjective[edit]
deafferent (not comparable)

  1. Detached from the nervous system.

    Verb[edit]
deafferent (third-person singular simple present deafferents, present participle deafferenting, simple past and past participle deafferented)
    1. (transitive) To detach from the nervous system.
The researchers deafferented the monkeys' limbs.

So your wrong too, as for spell check its not my fault for it changing my spelling.

U and others know what it means go and worry about you car that keeps falling apart.

Then please explain how that word even fits in your original sentence? Because it does not make cents?

I did if you read it, and it makes sense before you knew about what it meant. 99.9% would of knew what it meant.. Bloody spell check only good if you know the correct one to pick.

Thanks :) will check it out there and follow the wires back.

Does everyone just rewire from the plug at Headunit to speakers or do you do it further down before the split?

I wonder if its just a good excuse to put a small amp in and just run off the RCA and rewire that way?

Rca and amp is much nicer option for speaker wires.

Have done it at the head unit end of the loom and works well to disable old factory speaker wire.

The original stuff seems to brittle.

This^^^^^^^. Agreed, also much cleaner signal if you use an amp.
