Op has buick wreck, which has different internal balance and crank bolt pattern i would've thought? Aren't both Eco flywheels (smf obviously) the same PCD for getrag or t5? Iv never dealt with t5 but done a couple of man conversions so I'm basing my knowledge on but feel free to correct me

The VN-VR flywheels do have a different balance, but you can use them if you get it rebalanced. VNS2 onwards all have the same crank/flywheel bolt pattern.

I will buy a pre tuned memcal to suit a vs 3.8l ecotec.

Just don't buy from ebay.

Well both professionals and people on this forum are saying the same thing, so I'm mirror balancing my flywheel from the vp, bridging the auto harness to manual and I will buy a pre tuned memcal to suit a vs 3.8l ecotec.
Good chance your auto PCM won't have the components inside to read a manual VSS. some minor wiring changes also required for the speed sensor circuit when retaining auto wiring harness. Nigel (The1) can sort you out with modifying the PCM and a memcal for it. There are instructions around with the wiring changes to the VSS circuit I'll try find them.
