1998 VS SS Ute
Hello from the US! I recently purchased a 1998 VS SS Ute from Australia and waiting for it to arrive in the US. The one I have is black with a five speed manual transmission. I have seen several references here to there being 300 of them made in black and blue. But was that 300 black and 300 blue in both 1998 and 1999 (1200 total), or 300 in each year (600 total), or just 300 total over the two years? Can anyone provide me with the correct production numbers? When I purchased a vehicle, I did so because I liked the style and it was the newest car I could import without any restrictions. I did not choose it because it was a limited production model. However, since it will be a very unique vehicle here in the states, I would like to be able to accurately answer questions about the car. I am new to both the Holden make and Australian cars in general, please don’t crucify me too badly with responses…lol.

From my understanding there was 300 made each year, 150 in each colour and 50 manuals in each year but I could be wrong also.
Mine is a blue 98 manual took it out for a spin today!!

Definitely not 1200. The 300 was black and blue combined, with fewer of the blue. I have seen different information about a second release. Hopefully, somebody has a reputable source. Anyway, I hope you got one in original condition, not with 20-inch wheels, ultra-low springs and a pod filter.

Do you have to convert it to LHD?
