Vs statesman not keeping charge

I had exactly the same, replace the alternator just like you. Was the fusible link. Got auto electrician to make up a new cable for bugger all.

Did the new alternator have a new voltage regulator? Or did you swap it over from the old alt?
That could be your issue if not new

No i didnt swap it over, do i need to use old one ? Thanks for reply

Nope, use the new one.
If you had swapped it, it may have been the issue.

And my battery light also stays on with new battery and alternator

I’ll have to check, it was at least 10+ years ago.

Alt fuse is next to the positive lead on the battery. Its a little thin gauge wire, possibly brown about 10cm long. It will join into a different colour wire, which goes to the alt.
