VS ute diff ratios

Hi all, wondering what ratio's are available for a VS ute trail arm suspension. Mine and the spare I have are both 3.08 single spinners. was hoping for the old 3.5 if it's available.

Got a link? Some of the eBay gear sets are not much good as they are poorly manufactured. I bought a SH set off a diff builder. They were the real deal not Chinese.

Coupled with an lsd center im in well over a grand. I have a spare 3.08 single housing brake to brake. The thing is pretty torquey, I compete in Hillclimbs and have a test hill near home. It is pulling 100mph where my BA series 2 XR8 ute pulled the same. Not many of our tracks dictate high speeds so lower gearing/torque and grip are the keys. I'm thinking of campaigning it in 2021.

That's not a VS V6 gear set, you need M75, unless someone has somehow changed your gears previously. Best you check the numbers on the crown wheel. Dana Spicer is the good brand though.

Is the plan to fit an M80 centre and gears in the stock housing? I didn't know that was possible. Although I have heard of M80 upgrades for VR - VS. Never looked into it though.

It's not. It's only possible for IRS versions, and only if you use the entire M80 diff housing.

OP, as above, you want M75 or M78 gears. M75/M78 centres are also different to M80 centres.

I hadn't gotten that far into it, but thanks for the M range details. I normally find stores on eBay, google them if they don't provide a phone number and ring them before I order anything. Incorrect parts are a pain, and the link I gave you was an example. $1k is a bit much for me at the moment so with some research if I can identify something affordable I'll grab it.

Will the tag on the diff give me any identifying numbers. obviously it has 3.08 on it.

n/a vl 6cyl came out with 3.45 gears ...basically need to see M75 plus 3.45 diff ratio on crown wheel.

If it's in a housing take diff plate off & view it....try to get shims with it.2 pinion or 25 pinion axles won't matter as you only need the gear set
